Vanessa is interested in the seasonality, abundance, and taxonomy of meiofauna that inhabit sea ice in Svalbard. She uses an integrative taxonomic approach to identify nematodes and polychaetes living inside of fjordic sea ice to address the ecological importance of this habitat to meiofauna.
