Understanding the vast changes occurring in the northern Barents Sea and adjacent Arctic Ocean requires the expertise and integrative work of scientists from different fields of science. The Nansen Legacy team includes scientists from the fields of biology, chemistry, climate research, ecosystem modelling, ecotoxicology, geology, ice physics, meteorology, observational technology, and physical oceanography.
Currently, there are about 230 researchers from ten different Norwegian universities and research institutions working with the Nansen Legacy, of which 70 are early career scientists. In addition, 50 persons are involved as technicians, project coordinators, communication advisers and board members.
