Thaise is a PhD student in marine ecology and geology at the University of Oslo (UiO). Thaise studies benthic foraminifera abundance, diversity and carbon uptake in the northern Barents Sea to understand how these patterns are influenced by seasonal sea-ice retreat. The outcome will be used to interpret changes in sea-ice distribution, paleo-productivity, and related environmental conditions during the past two millennia.
