Heather Cannaby
Postdoc, Biological oceanography
IMR
Heather has a long experience in the implementation and application of coupled (physical-ecosystem) models to the study of biophysical interactions in regional seas. Heather is investigating biophysical interactions in the northern Barents Sea. She uses observations of acoustic backscatter obtained from shipboard and moored echosounders and ADCPs to investigate how the vertical distribution and diel vertical migration patterns of plankton and fish change throughout the season, and to interpret the biomass of animals being moved by the water.
