Cheshtaa is a PhD student at UNIS, studying the change in biodiversity of protists (eukaryotic microbial organisms) at a local time series marine station in Svalbard. Cheshtaa uses molecular techniques like metabarcoding to analyze change in diversity. She model the observed changes in diversity based on the strength of the inflow of Atlantic Water into the fjord system.
